+ What is a good age to begin music lessons?

It is never too early to begin nurturing a musical sensibility within children. During early childhood, the mental structures and mechanisms associated with processing and understanding music are in the prime stages of development. So then, what is the goal of music lessons for young children? Regardless of age, experience, or aptitude, all young children can develop meaningful relationships with music at a young age. If this is your goal, then it's never too early to start. Lessons are structured with the individual student's needs, goals, and interests in mind.

+ Do you teach adults?

Yes! Mastering a new musical instrument has a reputation as a young person’s game. Like learning a foreign language, it is commonly seen as something that must be embedded during the formative years otherwise the learner will be hopelessly behind, if not simply hopeless. That's simply a myth and a common barrier that discourages many adults from pursuing their desire to make music.

People of any age can aspire to learn to sing or play a musical instrument and gain a level of satisfaction. Moreover, an ever growing body of research suggests that learning to play an instrument can enhance emotional well being, brain health, and cognition. Neuroscientists say there are few things that stimulate the brain the way music does.

If you have the urge to make music but never had lessons as a kid — or quit for any reason — it's never too late. You'll enjoy lessons and learn how to play or sing the songs you like.
